Spring!?

Well, sort of Spring:

We got a tidy little blanket of snow on the first day of Spring :(
But it's all melted now :)
But it is supposed to snow on Monday :(

Still, the earth doesnt know what the sky is doing. The trees are still putting out their first buds, the grass is greening ever so slightly and all the flowers are pushing their first green shoots out of the frozen ground. Oh, and the birds sing in the morning, again.

I'm constantly torn between having a bottomless pile of homework--and wanting to go outside and start our garden, work on the house, or play with dogs.

Speaking of dogs--meet our newest Field of Dreams Rescue dog, Allie.


Yes, she is delightfully gigantic, playful and slobbery.

I enjoy her company quite a bit. Two days ago I sat out on the porch doing homework reading. Hoss lay in the front yard and Allie sat by my feet on the porch. Any time someone would pass by Allie would put forth this very deep bark: not very loud, but very menacing when you put it with the face :) The mailman went to the house on our right, walked by ours, then to the house on our left. The next day I got a piece of mail that said "Dogs out--March 22, 2010". Haha! I guess mailmen really are afraid of big dogs :)
