Snow!

School has definitely started. Do you know how I can tell? Because I have homework to do and I am doing something else. Yep, that's my life :)

It started snowing this morning and it hasn't stopped since. Yum. I love snow. I took the opportunity to take our large, crazy child (aka: Bandit) out to play in the snow. He had been locked up in the bathroom while we were out at school for our first day back. Don't worry, we left him blankets and many toys to keep him happy. Of course he managed to reach the ONE toilet paper roll that I had purposely removed from the wall and placed on a 6ft high shelf! He promptly shredded it across the whole bathroom. I guess he thought it should be snowing INSIDE too! It was naughty...but I couldn't help but laugh when I came back from school to see the wintry wonderland in the bathroom.

Either way. He needed some play time! And I love the snow. So we went out for a little snow play photo shoot. He had a grand time.

No, we do not let him smoke cigars (he is underage!) He likes to pretend he's a grown-up...

This one makes me laugh every time. Zach was chasing him around the yard and he was having a blast! Wild eyed and huge tongue flying around. Lovin' it.

CLOSE UP!

Happy snow to everyone. If you are somewhere where there is some of the stuff, you should definitely bundle up, go outside and enjoy it!

Today's project

It has been months since I updated. Yes, I am a terrible blogger. Our winter break is coming to a close and we have only 2 more days until the daily grind of school begins again.

In December I bought this little spice shelf and bottles for 8 dollars at a consignment shop. Not the loveliest little thing at the time--but lots of potential.

Today I finally go the chance to work on it. Below is my little work station. The blue tape was to cover the "windows" from white paint.

Here are the darling little bottles.

After 1 coat of primer, 2 coats of paint--complete transformation :)

I made new labels, went through all my spices and chose the 12 I thought worthy to be put on the shelf.

Yum. My personal favorite is Basil. So good!!

I love my little spice shelf. It turned out quite lovely. Amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!
