Spring Sunshine

Well, it has been awhile. I should really update once a week--then it woudn't take me forever to upload so many pictures at once :)

The coming of Spring has been fabulous. My parents, brother, Aunt and Uncle and their 3 kids, all came to surprise visit on Easter. I just walked out on my front porch, and there they all were walking up the sidewalk!

My mom and aunt prepared a feast. My Aunt made her glorious Resurrection Rolls and cheesy potatoes....SO GOOOOOD.

My Dad made the mistake of falling asleep. Easter eggs were hidden on him. He was awoken quite abruptly as a crowd of rowdy kids came stampeding upon him for eggs :)

My mom brought us a ton of garden books and went to the store with us to shop for plants.

She bought me two of these little daffodil plants, which ten days later.....

....were in all their glory :)

This picture may not mean much to you, but man--I was so thrilled to see these little buggers shooting up! I think I squealed out loud in delight. We planted many things from seeds, and these little Basil sprouts were the first signs of growth of all our seedlings.

This was yesterday morning.....

This is tonight. They're growing so fast! This may not seem thrilling, but wait til you plant stuff...you'll understand :)

We also decided to renovate the area behind the fenced in portion of our yard (our yard is to the right)

After lots of digging, weeding, construction--we had our garden plot! The two plants you see are tomato and bell pepper. The rest were planted from seeds--cucumber, corn, lettuce, onion and carrots. The lettuce, onion and corn sprouts just started peeping up through the ground today :)

And this is Hoss. Haha. He is the laziest creature alive. He pretty much refuses to leave the concrete/porch. Like he is too civilized for the grass or something!

He was adopted by a couple in Minnesota, but they are making the trip to pick him up the first week of May. We're so happy he found a permanent home--but we're sure gonna miss him!!

This is random. But they've been selling little chicks all over Kirksville. They're less than 2 dollars each! Sigh....if only chicks stayed little forever ;)

Zach has been working on lots of projects lately. Built a bench, built shelves....and most recently--a dog house! Well, more like a dog palace, it is VERY large :)

All the wood was salvaged from junk piles around Kirksville, or found in our garage. Our friend Max helped Zach do the framing and construction.

Fresh coat of paint and she's looking good.

Our friend, Biscuit, put on the finishing touches buy spray painting artwork on the side :)


School is winding down. Just a few more weeks left! Then maybe I'll update this blog regularly :)

The sun shines brighter every day, our plants will (hopefully) continue to shoot upward, and God continues to be so absolutely and incredibly GOOD. What a good, righteous and holy King we serve.
